Alléskolan is a secondary school situated in Floda in the rural district of Lerum.

 

There are approximately 590 students at the school in the age from 11-16. The teachers are divided into nine teams with 5-8 teachers in each. One team is responsible for three classes with 20-27 students in each.

 

The students at Alléskolan have the possibility to work in an individually active and researching way where they learn how to take responsibility for their own planning, accomplishment of tasks and assignments and how to evaluate and reflect on their work.
 

Alléskolan takes part in a project working with a timetable that isn’t fixed but flexible. By working according to a flexible timetable you gain the possibility to individually adjust each student’s schedule according to his or her needs. Another aim with the project is to make it easier for the teachers to work more integrating between the various subjects.

 

The school has a group of students, representing each class, who meet and discuss different issues and give their point of view in order to influence and improve the school. 

 

The parents can take part of their children’s work by looking at the plan that each class has on the internet. Here they can see what the students have worked with, if the students have any special activities during the week, what kind of homework there is, if there is a test and so on. The parents can also take part in the work of the school by attending the meetings that deal with what the school does, how it is run and what it needs to work with and develop.
