Community care department
The community care department comprises:
care of elderly people and people with disabilities (not financial assistance)
health and medical services (not doctors) in the user’s home and
initiatives under the Act concerning support and service to certain functionally impaired persons (LSS)
The community care services department is responsible for elderly care, care of the disabled and care of the mentally impaired. This is an extensive and labour intensive operation. About 700 people work in the department.
The department’s work is governed by the Social Services Act, the Health and Medical Services Act, the Act concerning support and service to certain functionally impaired persons and the Act concerning special transport and nationwide special transport.
