Ages up to 17:
Activities cover pre-school, schoolchildren’s care, pre-school class, compulsory school, remedial school, extended schoolchildren’s care and recreation activities.
14 units cover activities for children and young people of 1-11 years of age (pre-school activities – school year 5), 12-17 years of age (school years 6-9) or 1-17 years of age (pre-school activities – school year 9).
Upper secondary school and adult education:
The learning department also deals with education for the inhabitants of the municipality at upper secondary school, upper secondary remedial school, municipal adult education, adult remedial school, teaching of Swedish for immigrants and commissioned education. The learning department runs its own activities:
Lerum Upper Secondary School with sailing school and remedial school,
Lerum Adult Education and adult remedial school
Nääs Handicraft & Design, which is a part of Lerum Adult Education and
Vägskälet, the joint municipal student counselling service.
Through cooperation with the Göteborg Region, young people in Lerum can also apply freely for education in the whole region.
Lerum Adult Education cooperates with Partille Adult Education and can thereby offer teaching in all courses for university entrance qualifications.
Cultural affairs
Libraries, general cultural services, preservation of historical monuments and the arts school are gathered under the learning department, which deals with matters concerning such things as:
grant applications
contacts with associations
cultural arrangements
preservation of historical monuments
art purchases
adornment of public buildings
Cultural activities are most often carried out in close collaboration with adult education and other associations etc. In this way active, diversified activities are conducted for both adults and children in the whole municipality.
