What does a committee do?

The committees suggest goals and the level of quality within their different areas to the city council, called kommunfullmäktige, and are also responsible for the follow up and evalutation of these. The responsibility for the execution of the municipalities services is the city council executive board called kommunsstyrelsen.

The committes, or beredningar as they are called in Swedish, are responsible for differend areas within the municipality. There are eight committees in Lerum:

• Committee for housing and infrastructure
• Committee for climate and environment
• Committee for culture and leasure
• Committee for business and tourism
• Committee for social service and benefits
• Committee for education and childcare
• Committee for fees
• Election committee
