Council executive board
The Council Executive Board has the strongest position in the municipal organisation after the City Council. The task of the Council Board includes leading and coordinating the administration of the municipality’s affairs.The Council Board has eleven ordinary members and the same number of deputies. The distribution of seats among the ordinary members are as follows:
Moderaterna 5,
Socialdemokraterna 3,
Folkparitet 1,
Centerpartiet 1,
Miljöpartiet 1.
Among the other duties that the City Board has are:
drafting or commenting on matters – with certain exceptions – that are to be treated by the City Council
composing proposals for the budget and final accounts
implementing the decisions of the City Council
supervising the operations of municipal companies
The Council Board has a committee, the steering committee, consisting of five ordinary members and five deputies. The steering committee drafts the matters to be treated by the Council Board, but also has certain decision making rights through delegation from the Board.
